RETHINK Contest Accepting Submissions

March 26, 2014

K-12 schools in Richland and Lexington Counties are encouraged  to hold a RETHINK Contest again this year. Students “up-cycle” used materials to make something fun, useful or artistic.

Each school can submit up to three winning projects by emailing pictures  along with short description written by the students to Jane Hiller.

Please be sure we know the grade level of each student.  Deadline for submissions is Friday, October 15.  Thirty students with one accompanying parent or teacher per student  will be invited to bring their creation to a regional contest at  the “MIDLANDS JUNK ART EVENT” at the Habitat Restore 10 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2014

Students will:
  • Make short presentations about their creations
  • Enjoy watching students and adults make junk art creations.
  • Make a junk art bird house.
Pre-registration for this required at http://bit.ly/JunkArt2014

The regional winner of the 2014 RETHINK Contest will receive  a $100 cash prize from Sonoco Recycling.
